The Lodge
Sakura Ridge Farm & Lodge rises from the orchard as a refined expression of Pacific Northwest architecture, blending the strength of log construction with the quiet restraint of a Japanese country estate. Set high above the Hood River Valley, the lodge is oriented toward Mt. Hood and the shifting light that defines life on the ridge.
Common spaces are designed for calm and connection. Exposed timber beams, natural materials, and collected Japanese art create warmth without excess. Large windows frame orchard rows, pasture, and distant peaks, allowing the landscape to remain present throughout the day.
As a luxury farm stay in Hood River, Oregon, the lodge offers an adults-only environment intentionally limited to five guest rooms. The scale remains intimate, the atmosphere unhurried. Every detail, from handcrafted furnishings to carefully chosen textiles, reflects a commitment to enduring quality and thoughtful hospitality.
The Food
At Sakura Ridge, the morning table reflects the orchard and the season. Each stay includes a seasonal multi-course breakfast prepared by Chef Brennan, guided by what is at its peak in our gardens and across the Hood River Valley.
Menus evolve throughout the year, from early spring greens and orchard blossoms to summer berries, late-season tomatoes, and autumn harvest fruit. Estate-grown pears and apples appear in both subtle and celebratory ways, shaped by careful preparation and regional influence.
Ingredients are drawn first from our certified organic orchard and gardens, then from trusted growers and producers throughout the Hood River Valley. The result is a breakfast that feels both rooted and refined, served at an unhurried pace that reflects life on the ridge.
Afternoon offerings allow the experience of the farm to extend beyond breakfast, with orchard picnics, house-baked sweets, seasonal provisions, private tastings, and a carefully selected collection of wine, cider, and perry. For dinner, we are delighted to share our favorite tables in Hood River and the Valley.
The Farm
Sakura Ridge spans 82 acres on the ridge above the Hood River Valley, including 42 acres of certified organic pear and apple orchards. Forest, pasture, and gardens surround the lodge, creating a landscape shaped by elevation, soil, and season.
The orchard is working land. Pears and apples grown here support both the seasonal kitchen at the lodge and the estate fruit used by Nashi Orchards. Surrounding the orchard rows, berry patches and vegetable gardens provide ingredients for multi-course breakfasts, preserves, and seasonal preparations.
Life on the ridge follows the cadence of the year. Spring arrives in a flurry of blossoms as bees move through the trees and pasture returns to green. Summer brings berries, vegetables, flowers, and fresh eggs, with long evenings unfolding beneath Mt. Hood. Autumn is harvest, when pears and apples are gathered and the garden offers its final abundance before the orchard settles into rest.
In addition to orchard fruit, we cultivate peaches, plums, quince, crabapple, and a wide range of berries including blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, currant, gooseberry, and aronia. Elderflower, lavender, roses, marigolds, nasturtiums, and chamomile contribute both fragrance and culinary nuance. Sheep and chickens remain part of the living landscape, supporting soil health and daily farm life.
Agriculture shapes everything at Sakura Ridge. The land leads. Hospitality follows.
